I'll keep this short and to the point - in the epidemic of leggings-as-pants, certain people are to blame. And by certain people, I mean, in large part, American Apparel. As a major disseminator of hipster fashion, you should have known better. Why tell an entire generation of young people that it is ok to go outside without pants? Why? Why curse us with this plague? Oh American Apparel, why do you hate pants?
Please don't neglect to mention the ultimate atrocity: acid wash leggins. Please American Apparel, do not subject me to encounters with hipsters in acid wash tights. Please?

additionally, cutting leggings off to make shorts does not make them acceptable to wear beyond the privacy of your own home. even if they are high-waisted and trying to be "retro"
